Setting up E-Mail

To set up a new e-mail account in your e-mail software, you need four pieces of information:

  1. POP3 Mailserver
    This is mail.hammock-hosting.com
  2. Username
This is your entire e-mail address.
  3. Password
    You choose this.
  4. SMTP Server
This you get from your ISP—the company that connects you to the Internet. The SMTP Server is the server that sends out e-mail. Check what the SMTP server is set to for an existing e-mail account and use this. It's usually something like mail.[isp name].com or smtp.[isp name].com. Check with your ISP to be sure.

Outlook XP

If you don't use Outlook XP, then try finding a menu option on your Menu Bar that says something like "Account" or "E-mail Accounts."

Outlook Express

This is free software that comes with Windows.

Outlook 200 is almost exactly the same, but it's a little different.
